The client list
Armani, Prada and Tiffany let us measure their windows.
The same consultants, the same fabrics and the same install crew go into a three-window living room in Hollywood.
How much light do you want
The fabric is the whole decision.
A roller shade is a simple machine. What changes the room is the cloth you put on it. Drag the handle, or pick a level, and see what each one leaves behind.
Sheer
Sheer, 10% openness and up
The most open weave we hang. It takes the sting out of direct sun and softens the room without really shading it. Right where the view is the reason you bought the place.
Solar, 5% to 1% openness
The South Florida default. The tighter the weave the more heat and UV it stops and the less you see through it. On west-facing glass a 3% is usually the balance point between staying cool and keeping the water in view.
Light filtering
No view through it in either direction, but it glows rather than blocks. Rooms stay bright and completely private, which is why it wins in bathrooms, street-facing bedrooms and anything overlooked by the next tower.
Blackout
Nothing gets through the cloth. Add side channels or a drapery panel and nothing gets around it either, which is the difference between a dark room and a genuinely dark room.
What to get right
Four decisions decide whether you like them in a year.
Roller shades go wrong in predictable ways, and every one of them is decided before anything is ordered. This is what your consultant is actually working out at the measure.
Openness against orientation
A 5% fabric on north glass is a waste of a view. The same fabric on a west wall at 4pm is not enough. Openness gets chosen per elevation, not per house.
Inside or outside mount
An inside mount looks cleaner and shows the frame. An outside mount kills the light gap at the edges. On a bedroom you almost always want the second one.
Cassette or exposed roll
A cassette or fascia hides the tube and the fabric roll, which is what makes a bank of shades read as architecture instead of hardware.
Where the power comes from
Motorized shades run on rechargeable battery tubes or hardwired power. Deciding that before the walls are closed, or before you buy twenty of them, saves a real headache.

Solar shades down across a bayfront high-rise, the skyline still readable straight through the weave.Grey roller shades layered under sheer drapery, so the room goes from open view to full privacy without changing the look.Ivory roller shades across a vaulted waterfront wall, sized so the gable glass above stays open to the sky.Zebra shades on a wide living room window, alternating sheer and solid bands to tune the light by the hour.White roller shades held at half drop over sliding doors, cutting the low sun off the seating without closing out the garden.Solar shades on an oceanfront wall, dropped to the sill line so the horizon stays in view from the table.Cream solar shades part-drawn on a corner unit, holding the ocean and skyline while taking the heat off the glass.A blackout roller shade over a bedroom window, the city still bright beyond the edge of the cloth.Zebra shades in a panelled office, banded to give privacy at seated eye level and daylight above it.

Why Rollx
Anyone can hang a shade. Getting it right the first time is the job.
The right weave, the right openness, the right mount and the right motor, chosen per window rather than per order.
Expert window treatment specialists
Not a general contractor with a fabric book. Consultants who do this and only this, every day, across South Florida.
In stock installs in 2 to 3 days
Stocked fabrics and mechanisms are measured, made and hung within days, not the eight weeks a custom-only shop quotes.
Free in-home estimate
We measure in your light, against your floors and your walls. Colour decisions made on a showroom screen are the ones people regret.
Endless customizations
Fabric, weave, openness, colour, hardware, cassette, motor and control. Every part of the specification is yours to set.
One stop design and build
One team designs the treatment, makes it and installs it, so nobody can blame the other trade when something does not line up.
Made in the U.S.A.
Fabrication happens here, which is why a remake or an adjustment takes days instead of a container ship.
Premium quality and luxury finishes
The same specification we install for Armani, Prada and Tiffany goes into a three-window living room.
Family owned and operated
Showrooms in Hollywood and Jupiter, owners who answer for the work, and a name that stays on the job.
How it goes
From the first measurement to the final reveal.
Four visits at most, and the same team the whole way through. Nobody hands you off.
01
We measure
A consultant comes to you, measures every opening and watches how the light actually moves through the room across the day.
02
You choose
Fabrics, weaves, colours and mechanisms in your own light, next to your own floors, with the price on the spot.
03
We build
Made to your measurements in our own workroom. In-stock fabrics are ready to hang in two to three days.
04
We install
Our installers hang, level and program every treatment, then walk you through the controls before they leave.
Tested and certified
The paperwork a building asks for.
Commercial jobs and condo boards ask what the fabric is rated to before they approve it. Ours carries the marks, which is why the same specification passes in a tower lobby and a bedroom.

Free in-home estimate
A consultant brings the fabric and finish library to you, measures every opening, and prices the job in your own light. Nothing is charged and nothing is owed if you pass.
It depends on the direction the glass faces and what you are protecting. As a rule, 10% and above keeps the view and takes the edge off, 5% to 3% is the everyday South Florida choice, and 1% is for hard west sun where heat matters more than the view. Your consultant will hold samples against your actual window before you decide.
Are zebra shades worth it?
They are, where you want one shade to do two jobs. Rolling the bands into alignment gives you a sheer view, offsetting them gives you privacy, and you never change the hardware. They cost more than a plain roller and they are not a blackout.
Do motorized shades need wiring?
Not necessarily. Rechargeable battery tubes run for months on a charge and need no electrician, which is what makes retrofitting an existing home practical. Hardwired power is the better answer in new construction or on very large shades that cycle every day.
Can I run them from my phone?
Yes. Motorized shades pair to a hub and run from an app, a wall switch or a handheld remote, and can be scheduled by time or by sunrise and sunset. They integrate with the common smart-home systems, and your installer sets it up before leaving.
Will a blackout shade really make the room dark?
The fabric will. Light still comes around the edges unless you deal with it, so on a bedroom we mount outside the opening or add side channels. If a room has to be genuinely dark, say so at the measure and we will specify for it.
How long do they take?
In-stock fabrics are typically measured, made and installed in two to three days. Special-order fabrics and oversized or motorized units take longer, and you will get the real timeline in writing at the estimate.
What if a shade fails later?
We made it and we hung it, so there is nobody else to call. Manufacturer coverage applies to the components and our own installers come back out for anything to do with the fit or the install.
Still deciding? Talk it through with a consultant.
Samples look different in a showroom than they do on your glass at four in the afternoon. That is the entire reason the estimate happens at your place.
